About Lara Su Sonmez Mortazavi
Lara Su Sonmez Mortazavi was born in Hamburg, Germany.
She spent a decade working in Fashion PR and Advertising with globally renowned brands such as Jean Paul Gaultier, Comme Des Garcons, Missoni, Marni, and Balenciaga.
Lara is a cultural collector and curator who works with different mediums such as garment/textile design, photography, styling, and wax carving.
Inspired by natural textures and forms, Lara developed and perfected her designs at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul with renowned jewelry masters. Her mixed cultural background and her eclectic taste in music, cinema, and arts translate into a wide and diverse collection of wearable art.
The collections carry pieces of Lara’s history and memories: her time growing up between Istanbul and Paris, her childhood summer holidays in Datca, her time living in Barcelona and India, and her travels to Japan.
Lara’s diverse cultural background, passion for the arts, and experience in the fashion industry merge beautifully to result in timeless yet contemporary designs.
Each piece is designed to celebrate self-expression and manufactured in New York City, Los Angeles and Istanbul where Lara currently resides.
